Manipulate it!

this is an installation in Kosice, presenting my work in Brno.

The installation lets the user possible to intrude into a well-working vibration system remotely. The user will not be able to listen the result of her/his manipulation act, because it can be observed just in this place. The interface is  below.

Answers to Košice2013 about Brno residency / černobílé pohledu

Košice2013 asked me to answer for several questions about my Brno / Shaping the New residency in video message. I made this video.

• The first part is a fake translation about czech people, from an originally slovak text about the hungarians.
• The second part is a monologue about Hungary and Brno.
• The third part is a scene which i find representative for Czech. i recorded it in Brno, on the Tvrdeho street.

People see the things from outside everytime colorful. I do it also in this video from my black/white point of view.

Pellicova 75

There is no address at Pellicova 75. This is a park behind the reconstruction of the surrounding of the Spilberk castle. Looks like this:

i tried to organize it. this is my last project here in Brno. I like Pellicova, mostly Pellicova 75.

Short life of a thrash can at the Pellicova

I observed the life of a thrash can. This object was intended to be waste and not no hold the thrash. I tried to keep it organized as a normal thrash can on the street which is happy to accept the waste of the people. The process:

 

09/05. original state: thrash can intended to be waste.

 

09/05. in the night, not in the best conditions.

 

10/05. i just organized it, and the object seems to be working as a normal thrash can...

 

... 11/05. until somebody throw it in the garden

 

14/05. and the original state is back soon.

Finally I found a solution to control installations of Max, PD and other software from a website. For first I had several unsuccessful experiments with Flosc, JavaOSC, NetUtil, Processing/oscP5. Then I created a working one from the summary of the phpOSC class of Andy Schmeder and a Javascript slider collection (this of Tigra is perfect for it). 

Now it works as follows:

back-end:
- php script, modified (rename to .php)
- slider.js, modified
- pd OSC server behind a firewall


front-end:
- controller website
- server client pd patch

Call: physical computing workshop

During the recent years it’s getting more simple to create interaction
between computers and the physical world. On the input side,
with the spread of the tactile or optical interfaces, on the output side,
using microcontrollers it’s easy to step out the „box“.
…In this weekend we get introduction in both of the territories,
focusing on the latter: we plan and build blinking, moving, rotating
objects with the wish or artistic use.
The objective of the workshop is to jointly create a mechanical installation
on a public space of Brno.
The workshop is open to everybody interested in, but the participants are
encouraged to bring their own:
- computer, microcontroller (Arduino or similar)
- sensors (potentiometers, photoresistors, pressure, temperature, movement sensors etc)
- moving objects (dc, servo or stepper motors etc)

No money please

I just made a short video on the topic residency, at the entrance gate of 4AM gallery, Brno. It consists of a text "ART" puzzled with invoices and real money objects, an iron door, a surface loudspeaker system (feonic sound bug) and a beggar hat with the description: "NO MONEY PLEASE".

Bicycle lights

Brno, like Pécs, is not the city of the bikers. But the tram is a bit hard to use (and expensive...), so I travel with my Hercules (made in ddr). Because I travel in the night, I made a simple light system on it, which is of course a chain of led's, connected with jacks. So, the result is this:

Clearing the clean #1: on the street

In the front of the 4AM Forum for Architecture and Media (Brno, Starobrněnská 16/18) I placed an audio system which responses the by-passers movement over some man-hole covers.

1. phase: installation of the computer vision system and testing it locally.

 

The dv camera installed in the window. Analysed points: top-left, bottom-right  

2. phase: install the loudspeaker as mini fm radio in the man-hole:
